The Butler softball team showed it's not how you start, it's how you finish. The young Bears, with only one senior on their 18-player roster, began the season outside the top 15 in the preseason coaches' poll and didn't have a player named to the 50-player Preseason All-State Watch List. The Bears figured their time would come next year, but their time arrived early. After a marathon four-game Friday at Jack C. Fisher Park, the Bearettes went 1-1 on Saturday at to finish third in the 24th annual Owensboro Health/KHSAA Softball State Tournament. |
