After shuffling some games around due to mandated District games needing to be played, the Varsity were able to get it's full load of four games in this week. The Varsity Bears started out on fire but cooled off to close out the week. On Wed. the Varsity Bears took care of business in another District contest against Iroquois and then followed it up with a redemption win over Southern after losing to them last week. To close out the week the Varsity Bears lost the last two games in the L.I.T. to Breckinridge Co. and Lafayette. The Varsity will look to bounce back this week with another tough stretch. After another District game on Tues. against Western the Bears host Male on Wed. and Bullitt East on Friday. On Thursday evening they will travel to J-Town. The Varsity Bears are 9-7 on the season. This weekend Butler will be a host site again for the Louisville Invitational. Traveling to Milan Perpich Field will be Southern, Collins, Lafayette, Breckinridge Co. and Warren East. The Varsity Bears will kick things off tonight against cross-town foe Southern before hosting Breckinridge Co. Friday and Lafayette Saturday afternoon. The complete schedule of games at Milan Perpich Field are listed below: Thursday 4/26 5:00 p.m. - Butler vs. Southern Friday 4/27 6:00 p.m. - Collins vs. Lafayette 8:30 p.m. - Butler vs. Breckinridge Co. Saturday 4/28 11:00 a.m. - Collins vs. Warren East 1:30 p.m. - Warren East vs. Lafayette 4:00 p.m. - Lafayette vs. Butler The Boys and Girls Track team competed on Wednesday at the Male meet. Boys finished 2nd as a team and girls placed 3rd. Individual standouts were Frank Bentley 2nd in the High Jump and Anthony Handley 2nd in the Triple Jump. Cyntrie Hope also placed 2nd in the 100m, Madison Adkins 2nd in the mile and Destiny Williams 3rd in the High Jump. Once again, the Bears relays were on of the better groups at the meet, the boys 4x200m (Livers, Hinneh, Handley and London) relay finished 2nd. The Boys 4x100m (Bentley, Handley, Hinneh and Livers) relay placed 2nd as well.
